The Layers of Fear

Fear.
It’s what drives the body to move forward or back down.
The motivation to deplete one’s confidence is destroyed the moment
hesitation comes into perspective.
Panic.
The neighboring quality that aids fear along the path.
Wading patiently to overcome its next victim.
Misery.
The third member of the party always late on arrival but never forgotten.
When one’s whole world starts crashing down upon you, what stops the rumble?
What calms the storm and erases the qualms?

Fear

Fear
The sudden stop of your racing heart
The urge to look over your shoulder
Dryness elevating as the urge to swallow drops
Shadows moving,
circling,
following every move, you make;
Fear.
And as your turn around only to find that you are alone. The sigh of relief escapes your chest. Your mind plays tricks on you. Your heart beats at a normal slower rate. As you leave your troubles behind you begin to realize that the Fear, does not just go away…
Fear fades into the shadows…waiting and watching for the next moment to strike.
